playable mpeg2-ts resolution

It was impossible to playback mpeg2-ts (1440x1080) in Quicktime X(10.2)

1920x1080 resolution was played normally.

Is there resolution limit to play mpeg2-ts?

I hope this limit will be removed in next version.

thank you.

I do not understand the intent of your question.

Assuming they are encoded properly, anamorphic 1440x1080 16:9 and non-anamorphic 4:3 muxed MPEG-2 content in TS containers should play correctly in QT X v10.2 (natively), MPEG Streamclip (with QT MPEG-2 Playback component installed), or third-party apps like VLC under Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion but not open in QT 7 (even with the QT MPEG-2 Playback component installed) since this app is a "program stream" player.

If the files were encoded improperly or the anamorphic setting was somehow lost, then you would normally have to reset the anamorphic setting (if such a utility exists for the Mac), re-encode the content using the correct setting, or play the file in a third-party media player which can override the embedded or missing aspect ratio setting (e.g., the VLC player).

I don't think Encoding was problem.

Once again the meaning/intent of your post is unclear/imprecise.

Based on your initial post, I assume you have a TS file with muxed MPEG-2 video that was either encoded as a 1440x1080 (1920x1080) anamorphic or 1440x1080 non-anamorphic content. What I don't know is what specific audio codec was used to create the file, whether or not the file opens in the QT X player but refuses to play or whether the file simple refuses to open in the QT X player at all. When posting to this forum, it helps to include the following information:

file container extension

video codec

audio codec

a list of any additional data streams/tracks included in the container

which player you are using

the specific nature of the problem you are having to include any error messages given

Based on my original assumptions, I have today created and tested both anamorphic and non-anamorphic 1440x1080 muxed MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) files to ensure they remain playable in QT X v10.2 under Mac OS X v 10.8 Mountain Lion. Sample files play correctly on my system and are posted to my personal server for download should you wish to test them on your system.

FILENAMES:

00000-MPEG-2 Anamorphic Widescreen.ts

00000-MPEG-2 Non-Anamorphic Full Screen.ts

(NOTE: These files will be deleted after 30 days or so.)

File was captured one from DTV and could played by any other player (like mplayer in linux or WMP12 in windows)

Please specify work flow. At this point I do not know if the content is really MPEG-2 or if you are stuffing MPEG-4 AVC video media into a transport stream container which QT X v10.2 may try to open as an audio only file and/or post the media inspector screen for the media as opened by MPlayer or WMP12.

QT X has resoulutions that could recognize and 1440x1080 was out of that range 1440x1080 also one of HD format

Please explain what you are trying to say here. If you are saying there was an error message issued, then please post a copy of what it says.

Thank you

I have downloaded from your link and it was played without problem.

Does not QT recognize Video ID when number of pid is over 3?

Information still insufficient. To give you some idea of the media information to look at, here is the breakdown for a media file sent to me last month:

This user also "captured" a transport stream (TS) file. However, the file created by his work flow would open and play the video correctly but not the audio in apps like VLC while apps like QT X opened the file as an audio only file but could not play either audio stream correctly. Since you still have not indicated what the actual playback problem is with QT X, how the file was "captured", or provided specific information regarding the media content within the file, I cannot help you further. My only suggestion at this point would be to try using an app like HandBrake to see if it can select specific data streams from your current "capture" file and convert them to H.264/AAC M4A, MP4, and/or MOV files that might be more "natively" compatible with the QT X v10.2 player app.
