Sync the contacts from the Nokia with the contact manager on your computer (Outlook for PC or Address Book/Contacts for Mac), then sync the contacts on your computer to your iPad via iTunes or iCloud.
Hi Julian, Thank you for your prompt answer but I don't have Outlook in my PC.
Well, Outlook is what both iTunes and iCloud sync with on a PC.
Your only other option is to export the contacts from your Nokia as a vCard, then import them into iCloud Contacts at http://www.icloud.com/ and then setup iCloud on the iPad.
However, without a compatible contact manager on your PC, your contacts will not be synced between your iPad and PC, only between iCloud and iPad.
If your nokia supports this, the 'tedius but works' way to transfer contacts is to e-mail them to yourself, open that mail on your iPad, then save it to the contacts from there. (I did successfully do this after iCloud ate my contacts last year. took me a couple of hours but it did work)
I don't have a nokia, but look for how it allows you to export contacts and then see if any of those methods would work to import them into the iPad.
Of course you can transfer contacts from Nokia to iPad since one of them runs on Symbian and the other runs on iOS. All you need to do is to find a Symbian-iOS contacts transfer. I found a tool called Phone Transfer, you may have a try.
