You don't make a favicon in iWeb.

Make an image yourself. Save it as .png or .jpg

Rename the file to favicon.ico and put it in the root of the webserver.

Any modern browser will find it and displays it.

    Here's mine :

I've tried what you suggested.  I made my favicon in P'shop - 48 x 48 saved it as web .png (24) and did as you said - upload it to the root folder of my website.  That's the 'docs' folder, isn't it?  Anyway, it doesn't show.  I use iweb 9 and don't want to buy the Rage software that's supposed to make life easy with favicons. I thought your way would help, but it appears not to.

I took a look at your website, Wyodor and although your favicon shows in a tab, it does NOT display  in front of your url in the address bar, at least not with my browser - the latest Firefox (on OSX 10.8.3).  This is the same as my problem - favicon in tab but not in address bar.

    Can you help, please?

Send a feedback to Firefox and tell them you want the icon in the addressfield.

And send a feedback to Google, because Chrome on my iPad doesn't display the icon in the addressfield either.

And also send a feedback to Apple, because Safari on my iPad doesn't display the icon at all.
