Can textbooks be in landscape only?

With such questions where the example is "in the past", the only way to know current for certain is to query Apple directly.
Shoutout if you need that info.
Phoned on the 0800 975 0615 number and was told that Textbooks still require landscape and portrait.

The conversation led on to my submission of a textbook on the 24th January. It seems that it has been approved and is now on the US store. I was expecting to wait 6 weeks. The Textbook is called 'The Romans' and is my first book.

Just for clarification, does this apply to all iBooks submitted to the bookstore or just textbooks? Either way, this is a strange requirement since the portrait format is extremely limited.
I think that Apple wants TEXTBOOKS to be in both formats as this will help pupils to navigate more easily when there are a large number of chapters.
Thanks. Now that I look at it closely, I see that textbooks are viewable in both ways, while other pubs can be designed to be only viewed one way or the other.
