titles in Final Cut Pro 7.03

Question

Back at video editing after a long layoff. Creating a title the "old way' seems to escape me. I did find the new alpha effects.

What concept do I miss? I want to make a "plain vanilla" tille over a clip. Thanks.... and sorry for being so out of it!

You'll find Boris' "title 3d" does a much better job than the fcp built in titler - even with simple titles.

It is also included with FCP so no additional cost.
