update from 10.5 (with no DVD)?

I no longer have the DVD for the installation of Snow Leopard or later. 10.5 does not have an App store. How can I purchase and download 10.8?

Thanks

You mention 10.5 which is Leopard. If you want to upgrade to Snow Leopard, 10.6 you will need a Mac that meets these requirements:

A disk can be obtained from Apple

After installation, run software update to get to 10.6.8. If your Mac meets these requirements for Mt. Lion, then you can open an account at the App Store and purchase and download it.

You can do that when you install either Snow Leopard or Mt. Lion.

In Snow Leopard, when you come to a menu line on top of the display, click on Utilities and from the drop down menu select Disk Utility and you can then delete all user data.

In Mt. Lion, there is a 4 option menu in the installation sequence with one being Disk Utility. Select that and delete all user data and proceed to install the OS.

Ciao.
