Apple TV on 802.1x

Hello,

I'm trying to connect an apple TV to an 802.1x network. I followed the instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5438 but it didn't seem to work. I can't tell if the profile was actually deployed to the device.

My other confusion is how to configure my certificates. My university uses Entrust.net, but I'm not entirely sure where to add those. Do I need to add an actual certificate file, or do I just need the name of the certificate to trust?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

For 802.1x to work, the Apple tv needs to have the clock updated before it can validate any Certificates. Unfortunately, the Apple TV does not keep the time and requires internet services to update it's clock. To test if you configured your profile correctly, you can plug in an ethernet cable, update the clock, then disconnect the ethernet cable and verify if your wifi 802.1x takes over.
