iTunes 11.0.1 podcasts: exclamation mark, not downloading

Since updating iTunes to 11.0.1, I've noticed that when a podcast I follow becomes available, instead of downloading, there is an encircled exclamation mark/point to the left of that episode's title, and the download-arrow-button still appears to the right of the title. I do actually like to download the episodes so that I can have access them when I'm not online.

In the past, that exclamation mark indicated that there was something wrong with the podcast feed information, but now when I double click / hit enter while selected / hit space-bar while selected, the podcast plays just fine.

I am confused about whether I have in fact downloaded the podcast, whether the feed info is alright, and whether I'll be able to listen to it if I'm offline.

I had this problem recently with the same symptoms as you. It also appeared to stream the podcast over the internet when I double-clicked it even though it didn't seem to be downloading. I eventually noticed that when I go to Preferences, there is no folder designated as the iTunes media library. This was weird because I don't know why that would have disappeared. Anyway, I pointed it at my media folder and everything started working again. I hope that works for you.
