cannot open iWeb

Try the following:

1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).

3 - launch iWeb and try again.

NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

You don't need to use Terminal. Just open the Finder "Go" menu and hold down the Option key...

I went there and since I have 3 domain names I tried their suggestion:

If you are working with multiple Domain.sites2 files they won't open in Lion.

Click HERE to download DomainCracker.app and drag it into the Dock [A]. Click the the app to get the window shown below [B] and browse to the Domain file.

BUT my computer says it won't allow to download this. I seem to have read there is another app that works to "separate" domain name files.

Is that so?

Do you agree with their statement that Mtn Lion won't open iWeb with multiple domains?

Its my statement so I have to agree with it!

Go to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General and select "Anywhere"....

... and you will be able to download it.

I deleted Caches and re-opened. Still shows loading bar and then no window. Perhaps I do have to get that other app for different domains. I'll look around while I get an answer from someone that know a little better than me.

The default location is Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.

Open the Finder "Go" menu and hold down the Option key to get to the libaray folder.

OK, it opened but I moved it from the library to my Sites folder in the finder because I could not see Library when I was to choose/ browse my computer. Can I leave it here? OR should I put it back?

wasn't there a way to leave the library visible?

You can put the Domain file anywhere you want as long as you remember where it is!

You can make the library visible but you need to go into Terminal to do it.

You can also make an alias of the library or iWeb folder - Command L - and put that somewhere more accessible.
