Feb 3, 2013 3:56 PM in response to ehossainby Niel,Reinstalling the OS is not a way of freeing up space; an Erase & Install will erase everything on the drive. A program such as Disk Inventory X or OmniDiskSweeper may tell you where the space is being used.

Feb 3, 2013 4:47 PM in response to ehossainby Mike Sombrio,It IS possible by doing an Archive and Install http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710
BUT be aware that archive and install takes up the most space of any installation of OS X because it saves room for a previous system folder. The 6GB you have free is probably not even big enough to do archive and install. Neil is right find out what's taking up that space and then get rid of or move some files off to external storage.

Feb 5, 2013 6:18 AM in response to ehossainby ehossain,So I used Disk Inventory X. I can only find 74.3 GB. But when I right click on "Mac HD" and select "Get Info" it says 104 GB used out of 111 GB. So how do I find the rest of 30 GB? Thank you both Niel and Mike.
