System Tray in iOS 6.1.

Question

System Tray in iOS 6.1.

Looking at threads regarding battery usage, found numerous postings related to the system tray. Virtually all apps on my iPhone 4S appeared on the system tray. Should all or some be cleared periodically. Would love to learn more about usage of system tray.

Apps that appear there are not running. They are just frozen. It does use some memory to preserve their state. Clear out the tray of all apps you don't plan to come back to in the near future.
