I've been using my ipad mini to film video in portrait. When I put it into a project on imovie it cuts off the top of the video! Im using the app in ipad mini as well. How can I fix this? I'm using the latest imovie app.

This could be fixed by adding a "zoom tool", "fit to screen", etc.
This is truly outrageous. How can this not be fixed yet? Heads are cropped out of Portrait videos? I have the same problem and can't figure it out.
Same problem here. Unfortunately this bug makes the program wasted effort for me. Unusable if it chops off peoples heads..... :-/
I had the same problem on iMovie on my iPad. The best solution I have found is to take the pictures from the iMovie app itself. This might require developing them and then taking the picture from the iMovie app, but it worked for me. The camera icon is on the bottom right of the screen next to the settings icon. After the picture is taken, it will be inserted in the timeline and will not be cropped at all.
