My ipod is working but I can't see anything. It's a white screen with some white bars on the side but I know it still works. What can I do?

I was getting a tour of VIU (university) I noticed that the roof was low so I tryed to touch it. I thought I left my ipod on the bus. First jump I make it falls face flat on the floor. No cracks, so I thought it was fine. Before getting on the bus I turned it on and saw that it was messed up beyond belief. A complete white screen, except for a couple of virtical grey lines. Later on in the hostel we stayed at my friend turned it on and tryed to reset it. Nothing worked. However, she did something (I don't know what) and she got the voice respond thing on. It plays sound but turns off after 10 seconds of not being used and you can't see anything. I was stupid to do what I did and hope that something could be done. What happened exactly and what do I do?

iPod touch, Other OS, IOS not too sure what number.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
