The best way delete all time machine backups from an airport extreme?

If anyone has a better solution, please post to help other poor sods like me!

After a lot of hassle and misinformation, (being led to believe that the 'data' could be erased using 'Disk Utility') I found the the best method for deleting all backups on an Airport Extreme is the following:

Make sure your Airport extreme is connected to the relevant computer, as otherwise it may take a very long time.

I am also unsure as to the method of deletion selection affecting internet connectability, so please be aware of this on the type of deletion method selected.

Open the airport utility.

Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility

Select the relevant airport, a dialogue box will appear, with connected devices.

Click on the edit button.

From the top menu bar select Discs, select the partition (usually called Data) and then click erase.

depending on the level of security you desire, erase the disk.

For myself, it was "quick' as I only needed to redo a backup using Time Machine as there was insufficant space to do a backup.

So I decided to start with a clean slate.

Hope this helps
