problems using an Epson scanner with Lion

I have an Epson Perfection 4490Photo scanner which works with no problem on my Macbook running OSX 10.6 but will not run on my iMac running OSX 10.7.I get either "Falied to open a session on this device" message or "Scanner reported an error" Any ides please?
