get rid of a pop-up window

Hi there!

 

While using safari a pop-up window appears i can't get rid if the window. All the safari options are disable and when i do "force to quit" safari closes but when i open it again the pop-op appears..I don't now how to get rid of this!

    Click on Safari in the top menu.   Scroll down.  Have you checked off 'Block pop up windows'?   If not check (tick) it.

    Greyed out or not, you should still be able to see if 'Block pop up windows' has a tick beside it.

     

    I see you are on Lion 10.7.5.   I don't have Lion but in similar circumstances I found re-applying the combo update was enough to return Safari to normal.

     

    OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)

     

    You can do this regardless of having previously done it.

    Quit Safari. If it won't quit in the usual way, select

      

    Force Quit...

       

    from the menu bar, then select Safari from the list and press return.

      

    Relaunch Safari by holding down the shift  key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the bad page from reloading automatically. From the menu bar, select

      

    Safari Preferences... Privacy Remove all website data

      

    to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
