Personal music library.
Is all my music stored on my hard drive? If so could I use an external hard drive solely for my iTunes music?

Yes, you can have your iTunes library on an external hard drive if you wish. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Advanced and you can select where you want youre media library to be located.
