New Apple EarPod not being recognized by iPod Nano 6thGen.
It will not play the radio, (not sensing an antenna) and the audio stops when it goes into SLEEP mode. It is FIRMLY INSERTED. Suggestions?

It may be firmly inserted but it is not all the way in. Push a bit harder.
No, it is not all the way in. The white plasic on your headset jack should be flush with the aluminum body of the Nano. I can see the gap in the picture you posted.
Actually, yes, it was all the way in, to the last click. There was, however, that bit of lint in the jack which I found upon closer inspection. I was able to remove it with a wiretie. In the picture below, you see the lint below the plug, which is plugged in as far as in the previous picture, but it is now sensing the antenna and receiving the radio signal.
The nano is so small it was in my pants pocket over the weekend, and pickup the bit of lint.
By the way, this is what it looks like with a GAP, before the last CLICK:
Two words: Lint filter :-)
