MY wireless keyboard was paired with my iMac. I removed it from my iMac and tried to pair it with my apple tv. It recognize it but won't pair. What must I do?

I removed my wireless keyboard from my iMac and am trying to pair it with my Apple TV. While it does recognize the keyboard, it won't pair. Is there something more I need to do?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion

I found the problem. When the keyboard was recognized by my Apple TV, I had to click on it in order to pair. It all works well now. Thank you for your support.
