I have misplaced my ipod touch and am trying to locate it. Is there a way to do this?

My Ipod touch went missing yesterday and I understand that there is a location service available on it. It seems like I remmeber turning it on during set-up...I just got it for Christmas. I am not sure how to go about doing this. I tried logging into icloud and it said I needed to set it up on my ipod, which of course, I do not have at this time. Any suggestions?

The Find My iPod service depends on a number of factors; the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled. If when you log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section, the iPod doesn't appear, then either you never successfully set up Find My iPod or the iPod is not connected to the Internet,

At this point all you can do is to notify the police in case someone turns it in, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

Regards.
