Tahoma font not recognized

Ever since I bought my new 20" iMac Intel, I've tried looking for the Tahoma font to no avail. I got a copy online and when I tried to install it in font book, the text looks foreign (i.e. sort of Arabic) looking! For some reason, Tahoma is not recognizable. . . anyone else having this problem with this particular font not compatible with 10.4.6?

thx,

Why not get Pacifist and install just the font from the Mac Install DVD? Here's the developers site.

http://www.charlessoft.com/

First uninstall the bad version of Tahoma so you don't create any font conflicts.
Start Pacifist. Insert DVD 1. Click Open Package button on Pacifist and browse the DVD to Install Bundled Software Only and click Open. Pacifist will load the package, just follow the onscreen instructions. After it has opened the package follow the file path below to your font file.
Contents of Bundled Software.mpkg>Contents of CPUOfficeTDUSdisc.pkg>Applications>Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive>Office>Fonts>Tahoma
Highlight Tahoma and click Install at the top of the Pacifist window.
You can try out the Pacifist Software and install the font. There is just a pesky 15 second wait after you first start Pacifist until you purchase a license.
