No video, only audio with MP4

I downloaded an MP4 file for a class assignment and only the audio plays from the file - no video. Other MP4 files work fine for me, and I have checked with my peers who have also used this class video who claim they had no problem with it. I am running the most updated version of Quicktime on OSX Lion. Any thoughts on what could be wrong here?
