Please help! I cannot install any updates. Ugh!

I can download the update, save it to file, then open...but when I select "install" and click...nothing happens. I've tried "software update", I've tried downloading from website and installing... nothing seems to work. I've tried updating Java, updating Flash Player, etc. None will work.

Any help would be appreciated.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Well I had high hopes but again, once I download, open and click through agreement etc...and then click on "install" button it just sits there and does nothing. 😟 Thank you anyway!

Go to /System/Library/CoreServices. Double click on Installer.app. Do this only to see if it opens. If it does, close the Finder window that appears and quit Installer.
