FileVault diskmounting?

Hello, I was trying out FileVault on my 10.6.8 computer today but noticed that it was having trouble mounting .dmg files. I know that FileVault ecrypts a user's home directory. Does that make it incompatible with services like DiskMounterImage that are stored outside of the user's encrypted directory?
