replacing the battery and hard drive on a MacBook!

how can i replace the battery and hard drive on my daughter's MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2.26 Ghz 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3?

on the battery it says "do not remove the battery". Do i need a professional to do it?

the battery on my MacBook pro comes out easily, i replaced it once!

and do i transfer the data and all applications from the old drive to the new one through the Time Machine?

thanks,

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You can find step by step guides here http://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook

As for the data transfer I would put the new hard drive in an enclosure and using a utility like Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner I would clone the existing internal drive onto the new one. Then replace the drive and once you're sure that everything is there and working you can erase the old one and have an external drive for storage.
