Help with editing

I'm new to using Pages (the latest version on aniMac). I want to be able to edit text by inserting my comments in another color and then email the document to someone. Is there a way to do this that doesn't require me to go through changing the text color each time I make an insert? I'd also like to be able to add comments on the side and point to a specific passage in the text.

I'm more than willing to read the Pages manual to learn but, frankly, I can't seem to make heads or tails out of it.

Can someone help me?
