Using Logic with Motif ES.

I have a Motif ES6 & Apogee Duet that has no midi capability.I would like to know if I can trigger AU tones & input midi data via the Motif's usb out.Since it is an old keyboard Yamaha does not provide driver updates for the Mlan interface that the Motif ES carries. Will I need any drivers to get midi working via the USB out to Logic? Please let me know how to go about to establish a midi connection via USB.

Thanks.

Hey friend,

You can connect your ES6 via usb instead of midi, go under the "utility" tab inside your ES6 and change it to USB from midi, make sure your ES6 has a unique midi channel number and you should be able to take off from there. I migrated over from Digital Performer where I saw all the instrument names of my motif inside Digital Performer,I don't see them anymore. I'm hoping it's that I'm stupidly mission somehting.

Good luck.

p.s. you have to connect a usb cable to the back first, and yamaha does have a recently released midi driver download for the motif. I just downloaded it 2 days ago.
