Find my ipad 24 hours...?

I have an ipad 2. I believed it to be lost in my house for quite some time, it appeared as offline in find my iphone so I thought it was dead. By accident, i removed it as a device from icloud. This was over a month ago. Today, it reappeard as a device in Icloud, however it still appeared as offline. So this lead me to believe that it has been stolen. However, since it still appears as a device in icloud, that means my ipad has not been erased yet. I was told that if a device is offline, its last known location will be displayed for 24 hours, which is not shown on find my iphone app. Is there still a good chance that it will reactivate to wifi again and I will be able to locate it?
