2012 ThunderBolt iMac as an External Monitor

Is it possible to use my 27" 2012 ThunderBolt iMac as an external monitor for a game system or cable box via ANY type of adapter?

Price really isn't object, unless of course the solution costs more than a decent LED TV (i.e. $300ish).

I don't think so unless it is another thunderbolt mac. The non-thunderbolt 27" imacs (like my 2009) could do this through the minidisplay port. I have tested this with a PC.
