What server connection are you referring to? Everything seems to be fine here. Perhaps clarifying what is happening would help in troubleshooting the issue.

Well just have a message on appletv saying cannot connect to the server, try later....weird
Just after the 5.2 download.
I restarted everything and all the same

I don't think it's directly related to the update, could just be a server issue that happened to coincide. I would wait a bit and see if it persists.

I have the same problem, as soon as I installed the latest update my apple TV has not been working.
Any help would be great. I have tried resetting, restoring, unplugging all devices. Nothing works, this could be the last straw for me if this thing is broken. Apple is slowly losing a loyal customer.

Is it with particular content that you are seeing the error? Did you restore directly or through iTunes ?

I restored through the apple tv2, under settings>general
I am not actually getting the error message, except when trying to open netflix. When I try to open the movies folder it initiates loading itunes and then it starts blinking and goes back to the main screen.
Yesterday netflix was working somewhat, although crashing, and now it is not even working. How do I restore through itunes on my computer?

I would suggest restoring through iTunes then

Are you sure it is the Apple TV2? Just before Xmas I upgraded to iTunes 11. Prior to the upgrade everything was working fine, but now there is a problem with home sharing, and I can tell you that I had the same problem when I updated to iTunes 10, and that problem was not resolved until Apple upgraded iTunes to 10.6,( approx 3 months) which is the server for the Apple TV2. I can stream films from Netflix without any problem in fact use any of the apps on my AppleTV2, but when it comes to using home sharing it will play one song, then I go into my study deactivate/ activate home sharing play the next song and so on. If it is a film it streams the film until the end then lose the connection with iTunes. Frustrating!
Wrote an e-mail to Tim Cook last Thursday 30.02.13 explaining the situation. You'll never guess what happened next.
Yesterday I got a phone call ( no not from Tim) from Apple in Ireland and they connected me with an Apple senior engineer, with whom I spent nearly 45 minutes talking to. He tried lots of tests to no avail. He even listened to songs over the telephone to here when it lost the connection. By the way if you restart the Atv2 you also get the Home sharing connection back. He tried AirPlay and that worked perfectly.
In the end he said that he will investigate further and then ring to me at 10:00 am today the 5.02.13. He also said that it was highly improbable that it was a network issue and that it was most probably a software problem.
That's what I call service, and they have ensured me that it wont cost me a single penny, the service is gratis/without payment.
I am just waiting for him to ring.

There is no official way to downgrade. You can try restoring through iTunes in case that does something. I have not heard many cases to indicate an update issue, but you can always contact iTunes to clarify

Ok so actually I tried to signed out twice from iTunes and make new network tests.....didn't work until I tried a third time.....
That I can access to iTunes Store again.
Let s hope it stays like this and that I will be able to see movies....

Keep trying to connect..... It'll eventually work. And I had to restart a few times too..... Then it worked. I could see that it wasn't working when I scrolled to the music icon, it said that iTunes was syncing (for a while too). Like I said I kept trying (connect to network, restart device...) and it worked eventually. Hopefully it stays like that for a while.
