how can i back up notes from old iPhone 3gs to mac air computer

hello, i am trying to back up my notes from my old phones 3gs, and am having trouble... will notes be allowed to back up to the cloud?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012), iOS 6.1, iphone 3gs

thank you, I see that notes cannot be backed up to the cloud,so can i by pass the cloud and only back up my notes to my mac air ?
