Safari->Help->Installed Plug-ins and display what's showing for Shockwave Flash and Director. If you successfully installed the latest, then you'll see:
Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502 — from file “Flash Player.plugin” and
Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.6.8 — from file “DirectorShockwave.plugin”
Thanx for that but but that showed me that I still had the previous version, though I updated it minutes before.
Anyway, I made the mistake of deleting all instances of safari from my machine, only to realize I couldn't get it back.
Tried to reinstall, and though it appeared to work safari would not open. Instead it gave me error messages of a serious nature.
What ended up doing was, I reinstalled lion. Overwrote the OS
It returned a working safari that I then upgraded and now it recognizes the new flash updates.
So. All is well.
Thanx for your response.
But I'm going to post about other problems now that persist.
