Airport Utility download for Windows 8 - Where or when?
Where can I (or when will I be able to) find or where can I find the Airport Utility software for Window 8?

I don't have a Windows 8 machine handy here, but when I tried this last week, AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows would not install on a Windows 8 PC. I believe that I tested the "Home" version of Win 8, not the "Pro" version.
Oddly, AirPort Utility 5.5.3 for Windows will install on Windows 8.
Unfortunately, the rub here is that if kwlsmith has a "new" AirPort Express, that device will require 5.6.1....which could not be installed on Windows 8 in my brief "test".....so we may have somewhat of a Catch 22 here.
Unfortunately, no one on a user to user support forum will be able to tell you what Apple's plans might be, since Apple does not tell us anything until they do something.
If the suggestion from edex67 does not work, you could try calling Apple Support, but I doubt that they will be able to provide you with much in the way of specific information.
Strange, as Utility 5.6.1 runs fine in my Windows 8 Pro VM here on my Mini (as will 5.5.3). Maybe I've missed something.
Maybe the "Pro" version is the key, or VM has something to do with it. I tried the "Home" version of a PC machine, not Windows on a Mac. Maybe I missed something as well. Will try to check again in the next few days when I will have access to the Windows 8 machine.
Hopefully kwlsmith will provide some details soon on whether he is able to install 5.6.1.
HI Crew, thanks for your help. I am running Windows 8 Pro on a 64 bit system and Airport 5.6.1 seems to work without any problems.
There is a problem:
you can't set 802.11ac mode on this version even you have Airport Extreme Gen.III

Hi Bob - I run 5.6.1 on my Win 8.1 64 bit (non Pro version) Toshiba laptop with no problems - but as you have pointed out many times, not all functions are present especially for the AC Extreme - but conversely, every choice is not available on the newer streamlined versions either - so I use both my laptop and my iPhone or iPad to cover all configuration possibilities that I may need.
