Q: Time Capsule 3TB Ext HD

I have had my 3TB Time Capsule for some time now.  I would like to use it an external hard drive.  How do I do this?

Click here and follow the instructions. If you're using it for Time Machine, it may already be accessible in the Finder.

Be aware, though, that 3TB HDDs don't always work with the TC. Use a powered USB hub if possible, even if you aren't using multiple HDDs as this may help some problems.

I think we are confused by your question..

TC is always a network drive.. it always must be used in a network setup. you cannot plug it in via usb to the computer. If that is what you want.

You can use the TC stand alone. The best way is plug in ethernet from the computer and set static ip on the computer.. but give more details.. and how you will get network connection from this computer.

Normally the TC is simple to use bridged into the network.
