I have just taken delivery of an full length wired Engligh keyboard. I am connecting the USB into my MacBook Air 11 inch.
The green shift key light stays on constanly, and the keyboard is unresponsive.
Any ideas?

Sounds to me like a defective keyboard. To confirm, you could try hooking up the MBA to a different keyboard ... if all else fails take it to a Apple store and try one of their keyboards.

If this does not help, call AppleCare for prompt help.
