My macbook pro charger is turning on and off

So lately when i plug my macbook charger it turns on with the green light then orange then off repeatedly, i tried my friend's charger and i have no issue's with it but my friend tried my charger and he had no issues with it too so i would really like to know what's the issue, is it my charger or my macbook

ill put this info since i have read many threads and it seems that it would help to get me an answer

Reset the SMC on your MBP. Pay particular attention to this section. Read the whole article first.

Are you guys using the same type of charger? (wattage and generation)

Also, try connecting your charger to your laptop first for 2 minutes and then plug it into the wall. If this doesn't resolve your issue, it's got to be something with the charger. An SMC reset could resolve this, but the laptop for some reason doesn't seem to like that specific charger.
