transfer visual voice messages to new phone

I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to a 5. I need to transfer my saved Visual Voice messages just like the nice sales person at the AT&T store said I could...

How can this be done. It does not appear to be supported in iTunes and AT&T online tech seems stumped.

Was the sales person just pulling my leg ?

How is this Herculean feat accomplished ??

Follow the directions here:

If your iPhone 5 is already setup/activated, you will have to erase it first: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings.

This DOES NOT transfer the visual voice mail
