How to add music to iPhone from computer?

Use iTunes:

If this is music purchased from the iTunes Store connect the iPhone and in iTunes, under the File menu, click on Transfer Purchases.

If it is not you will need to use 3rd party software:

I have an iPhone 5 and my iTunes doesn't look like the screen shot above at all. I find it extremely frustrating to build play lists now with the new iTunes 11.01
