Nov 24, 2015 9:05 AM in response to Klaus1by Destiny3000,I have the same problem!I
I have two Macs, one being 10 Years-old, and the latest being 1 1/2 Years old.
I have a Canon MV700 [Cassette], and a JVC Digital Camcorder. They work fine on iMovie, but after losing my cable for the Canon and after buying two replacement ones, iMovie CANNOT FIND my Canon yet will JVC!
I have been using iMovie for 15+ years and no problems. But after getting replacement cables and updating to OS X El Capitan / To back to OS X Yosemite... No luck with Canon MV700 yet it worked perfectly before!
