how to retrieve images disappeared from Library

due to both not being instructed in "vault as protection" my utility in aperture never made copies. However, the entries of software disc's was prevented by having had iPhoto--january thru April 2009. My apple care support went off in April 2009 and I bought a mac-Mini May 2012 to help locate those "disappeearing from apeture IMages" hoping that I could find IMages that were not allowed stored in aperture--for whatever DUMB reason??????

How then, can I retrieve those iMagEs.
