Airport Express DHCP online client not listed

I recently moved to the Airport Express from a Netgear router. The Netgear allowed me to display all the assigned client IP addresses in my network. I see that the Airport Utility allows something similar looking at the DHCP Clients under Logs. However, I have a network printer that is not listed. I know it is online because I can communicate with it by giving its IP address on the browser and access its web interface. The printer's IP address is assigned a fixed number through the DHCP Reservations. Why isn't the printer listed? It was listed in the Netgear which also did a reservation. I saw a similar question asked a few years back but no answer was given.

I see no way to manually renew the DHCP lease to a device on an Apple router, so you have to wait for a new lease to be issued, when it should appear again. If you connect, disconnect etc a device, it will sometimes disappear until the new lease is issued.

If the printer still won't show up tomorrow, then I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else knows how to find a device that disappears.

Not sure if you want to do this, since all of your devices will disappear from the DHCP Clients list, even though they will still be connected to the network.

Make a note of each device and when the lease expires.

Power off the AirPort Exreme and then restart it and the devices will disappear from the list. The device that you noted that would renew first will appear first again and so forth.

24 hours from now, all of your devices should be visible again, including the printer.

I figure this is not a good thing to do for a permanent change but I changed the lease time to 30 minutes to see if my DHCP clients showed if quicker. They did not. In fact, my HP laserjet printer still does not show up on the list after two days even though I can access it directly with a http://192.168.1.8 address through its web access interface.

Did you power cycle the entire network? I'm out of ideas after that. What works for me apparently does not work for you.

Perhaps another user has experienced the same issue and can help us here.

Apple normally uses the 10.0.1.x range for IP addresses. You may have changed that to 192.168.1.x.? Not sure if that would affect results or not.

The Hp laser printer with its assigned IP address finally showed up in the log today. Not sure what changed. This log has not been helpful in debugging network configuration. Having the device show up days after it was online and being used is not very useful. Still don't know what is so special about reservation addresses that affected this.
