Apple tv home sharing

Hi guys got my apple tv this week, brilliant. I can connect to itunes store, buy and rent films, what netflix etc all ok. I cant see either of my ipads or my home pc.

I have reinstalled itunes 11, turned on home sharing, turned on home sharing on the apple tv, set the same apple id, turned the ipads on to share but nothing shows up. I can even view my photos on the ipad. I have perfect wifi on the ipads, I can access itues from them too. The only way I can see something simple like the photos on my pc is by connecting an ethernet cable. HELP .

iPads don't use home-sharing. You need to make sure airplay is enabled on Apple TV and look for the icon via iPad to stream content. If it's iPad 2 (or later) you can mirror as well.

As for home-sharing content from iTunes. Are you looking at the computer's section on Apple TV? Is your computer on, running iTunes?
