iMovie shuts down when sharing to iDVD

I am having problems with iMovie constantly shutting down when I'm editing or creating a movie. I am finished but need to create the movie and when I share with iDVD, it shuts down.

Any advice?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
