I keep getting this message in Pages
The selected file or location (directory or drive) is read-only.
How can I correct this? It wont let me save certain pages or modify.
also can not do any screen shots.... says I do not have the permission

to take a screenshot on the go, try "shift+command+4" and drag the cursor around the area of the screen you need to take the screenshot of... then post it.
If you can't do screen shots it isn't a Pages problem but a computer problem you have.
yeah I cannot do screen shots anywhere....says I do not have permission, I only have one administrative account.

My first action would be to repair permissions.
See if you can launch Disk Utility.app, select your HD and click on hour HD volume, choose the First Aid Tab if it's not already the active one, and finally click on Repair Disk Permissions.

Hmm tried that , still no permission for screen shot
Make a new admin account and see if it works better.

Tried that... still get the same error message..
"You don’t have permission to save files in the location where screen shots are stored."
These are just general suggestions because I don't know what might have caused this problem. At this point I would download OnyX and run the Automation script. Fruhulda is right that this problem is beyond Pages.

Ask in the forum for your MacOs system. Do tell them MacOs version and where you are trying to save.
Simple solution.... right click USERNAME and UNLOCK desktop. Must have locked it by mistake.
