It has worked for years and it just stopped. I use AOL and get it on my phone but not on my imac. How can I fix it?
iMac (24-inch Early 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.
The connection status button is green. Mail was able to connect to the internet. The button by AOL is red. The error message is "Could not connect to this aol imap server. Check.....verify...SSL....."
It has worked for years and I did not change any settings. The funny thing is that I have sent two emails from this account in the last two days. They did not leave when I tried to send them but after I had quit mail and restarted it.
I am getting mail on my Iphone 4S and my Mac Air.

You mean they did send on restart?
Yes, the emails went out automatically after I restarted mail.
OPen Keychain Access & see if there are maybe more than 2 entries for your Mail server.
There were so I deleted all of them (by accident) Now I can't even sync my mailbox to get the error.
It synced again. I'm getting the same error message.
