i asked my carrier to unlock my phone, they said they made the request but nothing happens, is there a way to see if they really made that request ? i've been said they always lie so you can't unlock your phone (Carrier: Personal - Argentina)

Only the carrier to whom the device is locked can unlock it.
Apple does not lock phones.
Contact the carrier.
i know apple does not lock it, but i guess that the carrier sends some sort of request to apple so that the phone unlocks when you conect it to itunes. that's what i want to know, if it works like that, and in that case if there is some way to know if the carrier sent that request
That is essentially how it works.
However, Apple will not tell you whether an unlock request has been submitted or not.
Go back to the carrier, hopefully get a different representative on the phone and demand they unlock the device if they offer that option.
