Hi,

I have 2 labs full of IMac on LION. I would like to update the app store via remote desktop.

They all have the same user and password.

I dont want to download the package on my computer and send the package.

Is there a way by sending a unix command ?

There must be a way to get this automated ? I already read some tried with Automator, but I can't get this working well

Thanks to help me

Nick

Why do you want to update just the AppStore app?  There should be no advantage to doing so.

Updates to the AppStore app only get installed when updating the OS.  You should not try to run different versions of an Apple supplied app than what's installed by the OS, as it probalby won't run anyway.

    Hi Templeton Peck,

    For softwares update,

I'm able to update via ARD with the command line : softwareupdate -i -a

But on many Macs, we have FInalCut X, Compressor and such kind of software that I MUST update through the APP STORE APPLICATION

I'm just trying to update automatically

    Can you help me ?

    Thanks

Apple has a Feedback page, that include the option to request new features to their software.

You might be able to learn alterative methods for installing app store apps in a mac administrator comunity for: JAMF, absolute , muniki.
