Why does security button disappear for secure website?

Hi

I've just been visiting the garmin website and noticed that when I went through to their checkout pages that the "security button" appeared briefly as the page was loading but then disappeared when the page was fully loaded giving the appearance that it was not a secure page.

Has anyone else noticed this type of behaviour or, more importantly, can expalin it?
