my mac mini wont let a disk load! how do i fix this?

so i went to watch a dvd the other night! my mac mini wont let a disk load, and ive already checked there is no disk loaded inside already! kinda worries me ive had my mac mini for a few years now but this is only the 4 or 5th time ive watched a dvd on my computer!
