As the iPad doesn't have an SD card slot, there's really no answer to that question.

The Camera Connection Kit is limited to a 32GB card officially, however there are reports of a 64GB card working I believe.

I have gotten a 32 gig card to work, and never really got my hands on a 64 to try it.

Can confirm 64gb SD does not currently work on an ipad 2 with the CCK.  Come on Apple, if my camera can read/write it you should be able to?

Just in case anyone does not know...

The SDXC card (64Gb or greater) is architecturally similar to the SDHC card (4 - 32 Gb).  Thus a different reader is not required for the newer cards.  What is different is that the newer cards use a different filing system (exFAT instead of FAT32), and thus the device you try to read it or write it must support exFAT (I believe the iPad 2 does not).

Further confusion can occur, because it is possible to format a SDXC card on any device that does not support the exFAT system, but all you get is a FAT32 formatted card with only 32 Gb accesible.  Many exFAT compatible devices will then think that the card is a 32 Gb SDHC card and will not format it back to exFAT.
